A closer look
Follow the exhaust. Understand the scope.
Ductwork connects the kitchen hood to the exhaust discharge. Grease can collect along that path, including areas you cannot see from the cooking line. Knowing how the system is arranged helps make the cleaning request more useful.
Share what you know about vertical or horizontal duct runs, access panels, and the location of the exhaust equipment. You do not need a technical drawing to get in touch. If access is uncertain, say so; it is something to discuss before work is scheduled.
The route
Identify where the duct travels, including any spaces outside the kitchen.
The access
Mention available access panels, roof entry, and building restrictions.
The condition
Include known grease buildup, prior cleaning dates, or areas flagged for attention.
